We are located in the building behind the Visitor Center on Market Street. PARKING -- HCID Parking Garage. GPS: HCID Parking Garage, Lowell, MA 01852 (After parking head for the flagpole near the opening in the large mill building)
 
imageThe Brush Art Gallery and Studios is located in the Lowell National Historical Park across the courtyard from the Visitor Center. This dynamic and captivating place was originally founded by the Lowell Historic Preservation Commission, U.S. Department of the Interior. The Brush presents museum quality exhibitions, educational programs, and has collaborated with many other nonprofit groups. Artists occupy studio spaces to interact with and educate the public on a weekly basis. Currently, eleven studio artists produce paintings, illustration, photography, jewelry, sculpture, ceramics, quilts, and handwoven items. Associate artists display work in the common area. imageThe Brush Art Gallery and Studios is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization. The Brush is supported by the Lowell National Historical Park.

April 1 to December 31:
(Tues - Sat) 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
(Sun) 12:00 noon - 4:00 pm

January 1 to March 31:
(Wed - Sat) 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
(Sun) 12:00 noon - 4:00 pm


 
MISSION
To nurture the working artist; to keep the visual arts alive and healthy in Lowell National Historical Park and Preservation District; to use art to focus attention on important social and environmental issues; to demonstrate through exhibitions and cultural programming the diverse and rich heritage that exists in Lowell; and to make Lowell a destination for viewing some of the finest art being produced in New England and beyond.

VISITING US
In order to ensure a positive and meaningful experience for all Brush Art Gallery & Studios visitors, we ask you to review the following information.

GENERAL ADMISSION
  • Free admission
  • Wheelchair accessible
  • Donations accepted
  • For small groups (6 to 8) Please announce your arrival at the reception desk
  • Book bags, backpacks, large purses, umbrellas, etc. must be left at the reception desk
  • Please be respectful of the artists working in their studios
  • The artist on duty is available to answer any questions
  • Photography is allowed
  • Visit artists' studios to see and purchase beautiful, original artwork and fine crafts

GROUP TOURS
  • Reservations are required for groups of 8 or more
  • Self guided tours and tour guided tours are available
  • For school or youth groups 1 adult chaperone for each 8 children
  • Maximum tour group size is 25 persons
